First Annual Xi Rho Alumni Reunion - Oneonta, NY

Our first official annual reunion was held this past weekend in beautiful Oneonta, NY.  The leaves were turning and the weather was perfect for the occasion.  We had about 40 brothers in attendance including three founding brothers:  Ken Packer, Jay Eskin & Steve Abrams (pictured below.)  We had a fun evening on Friday at Applebee's where we caught up with old friends and made some new ones.  The next day was spent at beautiful College Camp where Oneonta Ancillary Services prepared a wonderful buffet lunch for us.  A beautiful (and yummy!) anniversary cake followed compliments of the fabulous planning committee.  Everyone had a great time communing with nature, spending time with old friends, enjoying the memorabilia and learning about what Oneonta and APO were really like back in the early 60's when the chapter was first started.  It was a real honor to spend time getting to know these three wonderful gentlemen who started it all!  Our service project was a great success as we we packed over 20 boxes of provisions to send to our Troops overseas.  Dinner that evening at Brook's Barbeque was awesome as we had our own private dining room, wonderful food and of course the infamous APO superlatives!  A casual gathering held at Jay Deitchman's lodge in Schenevus followed dinner.  It provided a great homey atmosphere for more mingling and catching up with our fellow brothers.  Sunday morning breakfast at the Neptune Diner (of course!) and a private campus tour rounded out a truly memorable and exciting weekend.  Much thanks to everyone who made it all come together and we are already looking forward to next year's reunion!  May it be even bigger and better in 2009!
